In July 2001, a routine family trip to Las Vegas proved to forever change the life of Pey Yuan. Though Pey didn’t “hit the jackpot” on a lucky hand of Blackjack, nor did she pull the winning arm of a slot machine, the young woman who entered the Venetian Casino as a mechanical engineer would soon leave her successful career to embark on a creative entrepreneurial venture, which would inevitably prove to be her destiny.

Having always had an interest and fondness and for colored gem stones, Pey had undertaken studies in gem identification and classification courses at the Gemological Institute of America. As such, during that fateful trip to Vegas in 2001, she visited the shops within the hotel and instantly became hooked on the jewelry she found! Only one short year, this single event inspired Pey to switch careers, and pursue her dreams of becoming an independent jewelry designer.

Conceptualizing a variety of original, handmade pieces that would appeal to modern and professional women, Pey envisioned her line of jewelry as one that would simultaneously satisfy several requirements. Every exquisite piece within her collection would be practical, but not fragile; classy, yet comfortably; beautiful, yet casual; all would complement modern styles, and would be fine jewelry with a uniquely handmade look. Though ambitious set of criteria to fill, Pey’s uncompromised recipe proved successful.

Right from the start, retailers saw the potential of Pey’s products, with Saks Fifth Avenue becoming one of her very first customers! Today Pey Yuan’s classic, feminine and timeless jewelry can be found at countless retail outlets, though the quality and workmanship of her beautiful designs remains unchanged. Every beautifully crafted piece produced in her studio have been of Pey’s original design, are hand-made either directly by her or the staff she personally trained, and maintain the highest standards of quality in every respect.

Pey Yuan continues to visit fine jewelry stores, often seeing her own works on display. Though proud of this achievement, her greatest pleasure is watching the bedazzled expressions of professional, confident women who discover her gorgeous collection, as they are the inspiration for whom the pieces were designed!
